The New Way of Life
Still raining. Another lazy day. In fact, for me a very lazy day. A very, very lazy day. We had a few drinks and a late night on our Friday night virtual curry and quiz. This required a lie in and we read in bed for a while. I’ve started an American Marriage now which is brilliant. I set myself the Goodreads challenge of reading 12 books this year. I’m on number 9 already.
Apart from a walk, I spent the rest of the day watching TV and doing my cross-stitch. Season 4 of This is Us is now on Amazon Prime. I love this.
M cooked today. He made a Jamie Olive veggie lasagne. Leek and fennel sauce with lots and lots of cheese. Pecorino, Taleggio, Mozzarella and Gorgonzola. I could feel my arteries clogging upas I ate it, but it was delicious. He’s not a great fan of veggie food. I think this might be the first veggie meal he has ever cooked. He did it by mistake. Saw the recipe and asked me to put the ingredients on the shopping list but didn’t read it properly. LOL!
All the rubbish Saturday night TV we have been watching is finished so we watched Cardinal and The Outsider.
The News
Quite rightly, #blacklivesmatter still dominates.
The wheels appear to be falling off for Boris and Donald – we can only hope.
First weekend with no government briefing.
The Numbers
204 new deaths.
Total 40,465.
New cases 1,557 compared to 579 in France, 332 in Spain, 282 in Germany, 270 in Italy, 165 in Belgium and 114 in Sweden.
We don’t care what everyone else is doing and what the government says, we’re not changing anything until our numbers are below 500 a day.
